Close-up details of drawings from action documentation images – distribution of grain in Banbury Market Place on Old Michaelmas Day 2013. This is the site of the ‘Mop’ or hiring fair where labourers traditionally stood at the end of harvest waiting to be hired for the following year and showed their availability by holding a mop.

Retrospectively (2015) this has associations with the concept of ‘ broadcasting’ , originally spreading seed around so that it fell over a wide distribution for new plants ( now- ideas) to grow…
